Knoppix 8.1 mkimage fails!
Hello Linux enthusiast!
This is my 1st post here at linuxquestions in a very long time.
I've been running Knoppix since 5.1 and Ubuntu since version 8.0.
I have always used a poor mans install for knoppix with a working persistent file. The 1st time I installed 5.1 I actually did a full install being new to linux it was the best I could do at the time.
Anyhow I've used most of the Knoppix versions as they became available.
What I'm having issue with is mkimage is not working for me in 8.1. after upgrading.
7.7 worked fine and maybe I'm missing something in this new distro? I don't know! My partition is a 63 Gig ext4 file system.
I get this, "overlay Knoppix partition too small 400M" message at boot up.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to get this working? Thanks!
One more thing........ I use to could manually create a persistent image file for Knoppix with the dd command. Is that still possible? I can still create the file obviously and name it knoppix-data.img but the versions of knoppix that use the knoppix-data.img won't mount it even if its placed inside the KNOPPIX folder where Knoppix normally places it.
