I am not able to get on the internet using knoppix. When I tried to use DHCP, I get an error that it failed. I am guessing the problem is something to do with that(I can't go wrong with that vague guess)

Are you on a network running your own DHCP or are you trying to allow your ISP to assin it? or Are you a stand alone box behind a router or firewall...??
No hardware firewall or router. I want my ISP to assign it. It works with my redhat , windows. I was trying to install(making slow progrss) debian, even worked with that.
