How to create theme?

Hi,

What's a simple way to create a theme for Linux, for example say KDE. Any special programs?

Also, is there a traditional way to create theme? Like editing files to link otheer files and stuff?

thnx

each application will have their own API for creating skins or theme's, instructions and formats will vary greatly. check each app's homepage for details.
