for the life of me i cannot add a theme in theme manager

I have tried adding the downloaded tar.gz or tar.bz2 files and have extracted the files in my home/name directory and tried navigationg through and finding the folder and adding that... It says, this fold has no .theme files.... can someone give me a rundown on how to do this?

Can you provide a link to one of the themes that you are installing?

Thanks,

Mike

The theme link you sent me is for a GTK theme. If you are using KDE, this would explain why you couldn't use it.

If you are using Gnome, just go to Configuration > Gnome > Theme. Then browse the index.theme file in the root and it will add it.

I am using KDE, so I would just go to Theme manager and browse for themes... when I do that it says that there are no theme files in the folders that were extracted from the downloaded .tar.gz etc... Do I extract the downloaded file?

Maybe I didn't explain thoroughly. The theme you at the link you sent is for Gnome and will not work with KDE. (to the best of my knowlege)

You are using Mandrake 9.1, which uses KDE 3.1.x. Choose a theme from the KDE 3.1.x group on kde-look.org.
