Ftp Question


I can ftp a single file no problem. Is there a way to ftp an entire directory using a telnet session? thanks, eastj

Using a telnet session? If you simply ftp into a server and do:

get *

that will download every file in that directory. Not sure what you mean by through a telnet session.

What do you mean ftp an entire directory using a telnet session? Do you mean from a command to place an entire directory on an FTP server or download an entire directory?

Please clarify as your question seems to throw me off a little.

Thanks for the help....I actually wanted to download the entire contents of a directory using a telnet session. I used the get * and it worked. thanks

There is also mget which you can use as well.
