Unhappy Question about ftp


I trying to setup permissions to the users and their space.

1) i want to be able to chmod files and folders thru my ftp client , how can i setup this permissions.......just like lycos and all this places , when you sign up for a free space you can create new folders and chmod anything thru the ftp client ...

what ftp client are you using???


under ncftp
chmod <permission> <file>

eg:
chmod 777 /

Im using Cuteftp pro. When i right click on the file and go to properties to set permissions i get "no authorized"
