fluxbox menu transparency

I can't set up the menu transparency in my fluxbox
I have added "session.screen0.menuAlpha: 160" to my ~/.fluxbox/init, so in the menu itself I can see "Menu Alpha : 160"
but the menu is still not transparent
is it a bug, or have I done anything wrong ?
fluxbox version: 0.9.8-i486-1jw (it was a .tgz package from _linuxpackages.net)

So your saying that menu transparency does not work with bsetbg?

- You must have set the background with an XRender-compatible tool.

You should look into this if you want to get the transparency feature to work in fluxbox:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~hanb/software/...x/fbsetbg.html

If you do not have an XRender-compatible tool your transparency thing will never work.

I had the same problem and basically installed eterm (that also installed Eseroot) which then made transparency work like a charm!

So, once you have a working XRender-compatible tool, you can do either bsetbg or fbsetbg

hope this helps

thank you very much. I've played around with the configs and I'm quite satisfied with the outcome.

When I find time, I might just put up my theme on freshmeat.org or some place else and I'll shoot you an email with the configs too if you want.

and again..i love fluxbox :P
