Fluxbox transparency
Hi all,
I've installed Fluxbox-Dev version (Fluxbox 0.9.12) and now i wish to make the toolbar and the bar above the windows transparency. But it doesn't work. I've setup the alpha to 100-200 everywhere...
I've the nv driver for my Geforce FX 5700 Ultra.. But in the aterm and X-Chat it runs with transparency, without problems..
Can somebody help me? I don't want to have a Fluxbox without transparency
Thx...
Greetz

Sorry, I don't know how to fix that, mine just worked out of the box. Loads of people must have the same problem though and I'm sure someone can help
Cheers!

Actually, it may help to get the latest video card driver package from nvidia for your card. You can download these from nvidia and then follow the installation instructions. Probably nv isn't cutting it.

but in aterm or x-chat transparency goes... :S
and it's because of the compiled options in fluxbox, i think:
Quote:
Compiled options (- => disabled):
-DEBUG
SLIT
TOOLBAR
-XPM
-IMLIB2
GNOME
KDE
EWMH
REMEMBER
SHAPE
-XFT
XMB
-XINERAMA
-RENDER
|
...but i don't know how to compile with RENDER ... there isn't an option like --enable-render

All I can think of would be to install an updated driver package from nvidia, then make sure that you have the line
Option "RenderAccel" "true"
added to the section for your nvidia device in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Fluxbox will then be able to use the RENDER option to full effect, though I'm not sure how to go about compiling it or if it's even necessary once your video card is working correctly.
