Extreme strangeness with mail

Not 10 minutes ago, the strangest thing happened. I have kmail open, and set to check for mail every 10 minutes or so. Well, I got ~65 emails in my inbox. They are all from mailing lists I am subscribed to, and they are all dated October 29, 2004! Intrestingly, kmail did not apply my filter rules to sort them into mailing list directories like usual, they were all dumped in the inbox.

There is no help in the headers, and there is no date more recent than 29/10/2004! Where the heck did this mail come from? I use exim on my server, but I have not changed any settings recently, and these messages were not in the queue and were not frozen, as I inspect by hand frequently. I do not have a backup MX server either.

Has anyone seen something like this? What the frack?
