Asus A7N266-VM Problems with Slackware and Redhat
Recently I upgraded my motherboard. My new model is the A7N266-VM.
After setting up slackware 9 and configuring my onboard ethernet adapter the system would hang whenever I tried to use any app that used the ethernet adapter.
Also, each time I rebooted I had to reconfigure the ethernet adapter, I had the proper lines added to /etc/modules.conf. How do I get it to do this on boot?
After trying a kernel recompile and installing the drivers on Nvidia's web site I still couldn't get the system to stop hanging when I would use an app like ftp or lynx.
Also, after I recompile the kernel how do I get the modules I select durring the compilation to load at boot like they do for the original kernel? There are no lines for them in the rc.modules file or the modules.conf file.
Then I decided to install Redhat 9 just to see if it would detect everything on my system and what parameters it used so I could use them for slackware. After installing and on my first boot the system hangs on "Finding module dependencies"
Anyone have any ideas?
