AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

When I type 'startx', I get the error 'AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0.' I have searched this board and other boards and a bunch of websites and ran xf86config until I can do it by heart and I can't seem to find anything that works. I know X works on my computer because I used it woth Mandrake 8.0 before. If you need to see my XF86Config file and XFree86.0.log you can find them here. Please help!

Also, it doesn't seem like there are any errors, but it says it can't use any default modes due to insufficient memory. What does that mean? Do I need to enter a higher memory number in xf86config?

I have the same problems running Slackware 8 with an Intel graphics card and an HP v70 monitor. I have tried lowering the color depth (you should try that if you havent), which did not work. I have tried different configurations from xfree86setup, xf86config etc, to no avail. I look in mailing list archives and find the same questions EVERYWHERE but with no responses (or responses arent helpful).

log shows fine until the screeninit failure.

has ANYBODY gotten x to work after theyve had this error? ANYONE???
