Been playing a lot of enemy territory as well, think that is a great game.

However since I have not seen anyone mention it I just have to say that scummwm rocks. Been playing Beneath a steel sky, and its really a cool game. And who does not like the old monkey island games?

Also got Betrayal at krondor to run under xdosemu which is a must have game for any fantasy fans (especially those who like Raymond E. Feist).

I actually like the concept of a text base game, Mike. Graphics are nice but text based games have a certain vibe..

I'll have to check out some of these other games you guys are mentioning too. Only, FPS does become redundant after a while. They need more substance. I'm thinking something like Dues Ex (w/o wine)

TORCS is a fun open-source auto-racing game.

There's also Racer, which is not Open Source, but is free-as-in-beer, and you can download the source - you just need the author's permission to modify or redistribute.

I've also gotten hooked on Armagetron, Doom & Quake.

..not free but having just read the (lack-of-on-linux) counter strike thread, I recommend True Combat. It's a Quake3 mod, not free in so far as you need to buy Q3 but the TC mod is free, and it is awesome, realistic, a small community, check it out...
