America's Army Operations, is one of the best FPS out there. You bleed to death, no bunny hopping, weapons are just like there counter parts in reality, the HONOR system is awesome. With 2.0 comming out, you can bet you'll see me there fraggin
There's freeciv which noone has mentioned. A civ-clone. It's really fun.
Also there's armagetron, a tron-like-cycle-racing-game.
Lots of fun times with that one.
There's xlincity which is also fun, I'm thinking of maybe starting to upgrade that one. That's when I get time.. which will be probably next summer. Or.. I might do it as part of my comp. sci. class in school.
I'll see..

americas army is great, but not for me. i have a 28k connection. i got aa on a cd, but it wasnt worth it (but that was in windoze) because the minimum ping was 3000ms. average was 7000ms. and ill have to wait for DSL to try it again.

yeah, but i wish i could get vegastrike. with its size at 166MB, it would take 16 hours to get it, and i get kicked by my ISP after 9 hours of constant connection.
Very promising. Also, for those of you who don't know, simcity 3000 unlimited is available on linux too. (SC 4 isn't tho..)
I only wonder why all of these newer games aren't ported to linux. That's one of the only things keeping me from deleting the windows partition altogether. And before anybody say it -- I haven't been able to use wine. It just won't compile for me.
