I've been having trouble with a couple of programs lately, namely wine, opera, and inkscape.
With wine, all it seems to do is eat CPU and RAM. Just doing something like
will take any where from 2 - 5~ minutes to just load (I'm not sure exactly how long, I usually go do something while waiting for it to load). The same goes for wine. Just trying to install Notepad++ took 5 minutes just to get where I chose the language to install with.
Wine worked perfectly when I was using debian etch, but when I installed lenny and upgraded to the 2.6.25 kernel it (wine) seems to have died.
With opera, it runs fine, it just takes a long time to start up, about 45 seconds. This happened about the same time I upgraded to lenny (I actually reinstalled; not aptitude dist-upgrade).
And inkscape just doesn't start. It just sits there eating up CPU, I have no idea why it isn't working.
Anyone else have these problems and know how to fix them?
What I'm thinking of doing is installing wine and opera from Debian stable and seeing if it affects their performance.
Thanks for any help.
