i have just done a search for this and only found very complicated methods for doing this for programs like sql and stuff.
Basically all i want is for me to be able to turn my linuxbox on and for folding@home to start. So essentially one file needs to be executed and then its all good. Then this computer will act as a fileserver and folding server (samba is already set to start at bootup but it does that automatically).
Can anybody tell me how to get this file to be executed along with samba at startup?
You didn't mention your distro. If it's slackware as shown in your profile, then open the /etc/rc.d/rc.local and add a line with the full path to the command you run to start folding@home, i.e
