Starting programs


I cannot start some programs like
-file roller
-mono
-nvu

in kde enviroment there is just a tab in the task bar telling that "startin mono etc." and it disapears after some time what can I do where can I find the error

also from console when I type nvu nothing happens it just waits...

Try starting them from a console and look at the error-messages.
