Thumbs down missing libstdc++.so.5

I'm trying to run a shell script for my university's campus network access, but I keep running into a problem.

./engine: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Error running CSA.sh

I'm running gcc 4.1 and i updated the libstdc++. There is a libstdc++.so.5 and a libstdc++.5.0.6 in usr/lib/libstdc++-v3/

Is there a symlink I'm missing or is there something else I need to emerge?

Thanks in advance.
J.

Your profile shows three Linux's. Why not just have a look
in all to see, how it is arranged ? ?

But anyway : The package name for PCLinuxOS 2009 is :
libstdc++5 (-3.3.6-1pclos2007)
Ubuntu : The old libstdc++5 ( like libstdc++5_3.3.6-15_i386.deb )
... Both providing /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5
... /usr/lib/ is the place for other app's to find it.
If you have a valid lib, a link may work.

P.S.: libstdc++5 is from gcc-3.3.x
.....
