nokia 3650 as web-cam.


anyone know how to use Nokia 3650 as a web-cam?

ummm. not offhand. but if you have a look at freshmeat or sourceforge you should get lots of hits for a search of 'webcam'

As for the camera itself, you might want to have a look in the motion mailing list (motion.sourceforge.net) to see if anybody's had any luck with that camera.

It's a cell phone. I don't see anything off hand, I was reading the users guide, I don't see a way to stream at all. To send you have to first save, then send, sort of like an attachment to an email. I suppose you could set that up to go every so often? A webcam though, I don't know.

How does it interface with a PC?

gak! doh! a smell phone! I though it was kind of odd that nokia started making cameras

Thank you.

By the way, it is not webcam. It is handphone.
And the thing is Nokia 3650 doesn't have serial port. It only have blue-tooth interface. So it's not very common thing.

Yeh I do.

You will need a bluetooth dongle, which wont cost much, but the advantage is that your webcam can "roam".

Its kinda complicated to set up, and you do need a little software. But once its up, its great. If you email me I'll send you instructions.
