I just got a web cam

I just got a web cam. Elecom model UCAM-E1C10MSV I used dmesg and saw that it is detected in there. But How do I use it I tried launching the video conferencing program that is under the internet options but it doesn't activate. Is there any other softare out there that would work with using this. I have gaim-vv but can't seem to get any of my friends who have video option available to see me. Is there software that would let me test the video feed on my screen? Where I can see myself through my camera?
