Burning or Writing DVDs Under Debian

Posted 05-19-2006 at 10:19 AM by sridhar11

If you want to burn DVD's in debian you need to install the "dvd+rw-tools" package.

dvd+rw-tools makes it possible to burn DVD images created by dvdauthor or mkisofs to DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW disks, replacing cdrecord-proDVD in many cases.

It goes through the POST and begins the process of starting all the services and whatnot to get RH running. I turn my head away from the computer and begin reading some of the RHCT book. How do I make the serial port available for Wine apps?

Posted 05-13-2006 at 04:31 AM by Bengan

Hi
I have a HP C200 digital camera. The software for Linux doesn't realise that the camera in fact is connected and turned on, so I have to go to Windows to unload the images. Now, I have installed the Windows programs under Wine in Linux, but that software complains about the serial port not being available. Hmmm... Is there a fix?
