Where is APM in kernel 2.6.23.9??
My old Pentium 1 is running Slackware 12 just fine. It uses APM to go into a suspend mode. I've been compiling kernels for it for a year and a half with relatively no problems till now....where is the APM setting in kernel 2.6.23.9? I'm using make menuconfig and looking under power setup. I see ACPI and APM listed but there is no selection for APM. I compiled the kernel and now it won't use APM.

If you don't see any selections under the APM BIOS support selection, I think you might need to enable the "Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers" selection. All of the APM selections are marked as "New", in 2.6.23.9

Edit: well I turned off that setting in my menuconfig and was still able to see all of the APM selections... you don't see them?

I see the APM selections now...I started with no config file by doing a make mrproper. My old config had something checked which disabled APM. My old config works for everything else...any ideas as to what would disable APM?
Got it...I had Suspend to RAM and standby unchecked. Checking it makes the APM options appear.

I'm testing Slackware Current (12.1) and am compiling a new kernel. In the menuconfig Power Management Options (ACPI, APM) there is no submenu for APM. Only ACPI.
The "Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers" in the General setup section is enabled.
I created the config file using make oldconfig with my 2.6.21.5 config file.
Where is the APM support cleverly hidden in 2.6.23.12?
