Question What email client would you recommend?

Thunderbird seems 'laggy'. What email client would you recommend (mainly for a gmail account)? I am running KDE by the way.

Hi george!

So, I use Alpine, a terminal email client. But, with KDE you can use the KMail, its a good mail client!

I hope this help you!

Busy building claws from sbopkg now, will report back. Looking at the website it seems to be quite nice.

For Slackware 13.37, you can find packages for Claws v3.7.9 here or here.

Thanks rlworkman =]

Don't forget to visit the Claws website for the plugins and the documentation. It's very configurable once you know how to do it.

Claws is excellent. Feature-rich and infinitely configurable. Sylpheed is a very nice alternative. Mutt if you are happy using the terminal and console.

Ok, installed claws and the plugins from sbopkg. Now it gives me an error saying 'Can't connect to IMAP4 server: imap.gmail.com:993' then I select 'close'.

I closed it and opened it again, it now gives me this error:
Code:
Claws Mail has detected a configured mailbox, but it is incomplete. It is possibly due to a failing IMAP account. Use "Rebuild folder tree" on the mailbox parent folder's context menu to try to fix it.
I do the rebuilding but after sometime it just gives me the 'Can't connect to IMAP4 server: imap.gmail.com:993' error again if I select view log this is in the log
Code:
** IMAP error on imap.gmail.com: stream error
what am I doing wrong or not doing? I followed this guide: http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/howt...ith_claws-mail

Thanks

P.S.

Which plugins do you recommend I install?
