Transferring Email from Outlook to Linux Email Client
Hi,
I am running a dual-boot system with Windows 2000 and Slackware 9. What is the simplest way to transfer email from my MS Outlook XP (in Windows) to Mozilla's email client (in Linux)?
Thanks,
David Bindel

You could give a foward of all your e-mails to your self and then open again with Mozilla? I've never heard of any program which can make transfers... maybe the contact list could be done someway(?)...

I just set up accounts with the same name and copied the settings. It was easy.

I know how to *set up* my email accounts, I just need to *transfer* my existing email across Hard Drive Partitions -> Operating Systems -> Email Clients.
I'll look into Evolution's Outlook import feature.
Thanks,
David

This thread is incredibly old, but I am posting here to add one more idea... something I have done countless times from Outlook to various Linux email clients: use IMAP.
In short, the steps are as follows:
1. Setup an IMAP mailbox somewhere (maybe even on the Linux box itself);
2. Add the account to both clients (Outlook and Evolution, for example);
3. Copy the messages from Outlook to the IMAP mailbox; and,
4. Copy the messages from the IMAP mailbox to the Linux email client.
Hope this helps.
~ Greg
