slackpkg uprade command seems not to be working

Have been having trouble of late getting upgrades when using slackpkg, and example of the problem is here when trying to upgrade to the latest cups package, although the problem is not limited to this alone.

Code:
root@captainpugwash:/etc/slackpkg# slackpkg search cups

Looking for cups in package list. Please wait... DONE

The list below shows all packages with name matching "cups".

[uninstalled] - cups-1.4.2-x86_64-1
[uninstalled] - pycups-1.9.48-x86_64-1

You can search specific files using "slackpkg file-search file".
root@captainpugwash:/etc/slackpkg# slackpkg upgrade cups

Code:
Checking local integrity... DONE
Looking for cups in package list. Please wait... -DONE

No packages match the pattern for upgrade. Try:

        /usr/sbin/slackpkg install|reinstall
Code:
root@captainpugwash:/etc/slackpkg# slackpkg install cups

Looking for cups in package list. Please wait... DONE

No packages match the pattern for install. Try:

        /usr/sbin/slackpkg reinstall|upgrade
And extracted from /var/lib/slackpkg/pkglist

Code:
slackware64 cups 1.4.2 x86_64 1 cups-1.4.2-x86_64-1 ./slackware64/a txz
So am I doing something wrong, or is my slackpkg broken. BTW, I have re-installed it to see if that might have been the case.

Have you edited /etc/slackpkg/mirrors to uncomment a mirror?

Looks like he tried that, too.

I was also having this problem, but I don't remember which package I was trying to install.

Ohh my bad.. so he did.

Wonder if you are using an old slackpkg.conf file? are there any .new files around?

Not sure if that question was for me or the original poster (or both). But no, I don't see any *.new files in /etc/slackpkg. It's very possible that I've reinstalled since I had this problem; it happened a while ago.

btw, I just tried:
Code:
removepkg cups
slackpkg install cups
And it worked

piratesmack, thanks. Removing and then installing did the trick. Is this a bug in slackpkg that needs reporting, and if so, to whom?
