2 cdroms only one showing on desktop

I've just reinstalled Redhat 7 and I am a complete newbie. The problem is, I have 2 CD drives on my system but only one of them is showing on my desktop. How do I place a link to the second CD drive on my desktop?
my sys. is a Compaq Presario and I'm running Redhat with the GUI

thanks

R'

First, RedHat 7 is ANCIENT; you'd be much better off loading a more modern, recent distro. Fedora Core, OpenSuSE, Ubuntu/Kubuntu, are all good choices.

If you're a "complete newbie", I'd suggest Ubuntu/Kubuntu....chances are, it'll 'just work' right after installation. If your second drive isn't showing up, you've either got a hardware problem, or your system isn't seeing it. You'd have to load modules, read log files, etc.

If you're comfortable doing it, fire away. Post the output of lsusb, lspci, and tell us the make/model of both drives, along with the results of basic testing (can you put a disk in it, and have it read? Play audio CD?, etc.).
