try mounting like this

Fat 32 drive
Quote:
mount /dev/hda5 /windows/D -t vfat -o iocharset=utf8,umask=000
NTFS drive
Quote:
mount /dev/hda6 /windows/E -t ntfs -o nls=utf8,umask=0222
if you want to auto mount on boot
add these lines to fstab

Quote:
/dev/hda6 /windows/E ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0222 0 0
/dev/hda5 /windows/D vfat iocharset=utf8,umask=000 0 0

of course the NTFS drive is going to be Read Only that cannot be helped

Try going to the Mandriva Linux Control Center:

MLCC -> Mount Points -> Create, delete and resize hard disk partitions

Unmount and remount your drive(s). You may also want to reformat them if you are able. (caution: You'll lose everything on the drive!)

This worked for me when my FAT32 partition was not staying mounted. I had nothing on the drive yet, so I did everything. Works fine now.

You have normal hard disk or SCSI or SATA ? Usually if you have normal ATA hard disk, Mandriva 2007 automatically mounts Windows partitions for you. I never had this problem. You might done something wrong while installing Mandriva Linux i guess.
