I just decided to try getting my Wacom Intuos tablet working again. After previously being daunted by the heavy-duty howto's out there on the subject, I'd given up. On a lark, I decided to see if Mandrake had an easy way to get the tablet working. I plugged it into a USB port and then went into the configuration menus. I didn't see anything that would let me set it up, so I went into USB View. It showed that the tablet was plugged in, so what was going on? Again on a lark, I tried using the tablet -- and it worked! No driver downloads, no messing about with configuration, it just worked. Amazing! (Not that I did any great work here, but I was very pleasantly surprised with this success.)
Also, a couple weeks ago, I tried installing the new Gnome 2.6 from RPMs. They screwed up Gnome, so in the end I had to reintall Gnome. I did it from within KDE. I thought for sure I was going to have to post here asking for help in reinstalling, but I did a bit of research and figured it out. I know it's not a big deal, but I felt proud of myself.
Oh, and I also recently got Chinput working for Chinese input. Yay! Now if I could just get it to operate in word mode, instead of only character mode...
Anyway, just had to toot my own horn...
