vmware xp host redhat guest

Hello,
I'm runing xp pro with cable internet conn, Terayon modem usb ,
also i have vmware workstation 4.5.1 runing redhat 9 as guest.
i've tried setting up a virtual network between xp and redhat ..but probably couldnt get it ...
now i know some question bout this as been asked...but i am realy new with all this and i need more spacific answer,

So what exactly is the question?

Are you runing Host Only, NAT or Bridged networking for your VM?

thats the problam , idont realy know how should i setup the network according to the hardware & software
i read some docs and i think the best way for me is 'host only' but i'm not sure...appreciate the help,
