Suse 10.1 help required on smart package manager


I just installed mart package manager in my suse 10.1 . It installed fine and the gui is working . but when i try to update it it says

sunnydayzrback@(none):~> smart update
error: Configuration is in readonly mode.

I have cheked if there are multiple instances of smart running and that didnt fix the error.......PLZZ HELP

You'll have to run it as root.

How did you install smart? I have the Guru version and it does not have the problems you mention.

I re installed the package and now it works fine thank u.

proxy in smart

Does any one know how to configure the proxy settings in smart . I am using Suse 10.1 . I configured the settings in yast but those are not reflected in smart.. help plzz........
I did this but it didnt help

sunil:/home/sunnydayzrback # smart config http-10.65.0.33:3128


sunil:/home/sunnydayzrback # smart config ftp-10.65.0.33:3128
