slow streaming videos

I have a high speed comcast connection (8MB) yet Konqueror, Firefox and Opera produce jerky (at best) video streaming. I tried increasing the cache to no avail. I emptied the cache as well. Downloads do not reflect the speed I'm paying for but I realize that some sites are slower. Speed tests seem to support the connection I have.

I can play video files with mplayer with no problems.

Sure do need some help

What spec is the system you are using?
It could be a resources issue, since flash is a bit of a resource hog.
