Welcome to LQ.

When you burn the CD make sure you do so at a slow speed. It would also be a good idea to make sure you are using decent quality CDs and maybe even clean the drive.

type 'mount cdrom'
then cd into /mnt and 'ls'
you should then have a list of the files on the CD.

When i type that i get:

root~slackware:/# mount cdrom
mount: can't find /var/log/moun in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
root@slackware:/#

and thats all i get

umm finding my bros slack 8.1 and that dectects the cdrom and the other doesnt so i might try burning it at a lower speed

edit again:

i reburn it at a lower speed and i get the same bloody thing, i might as well use slackware 8.1 cos i dont have the time to download 9.1

I got the same problem yesterday.

Try my ways:
1)Connet one USB CD/DVD
2)Change another CDROM, sometimes it works.
