I'm trying to attach my iPod to my computer and sync music to it. I had the iPod formatted correctly by a friend, and then plugged it in. Everything was peachy and it connected correctly. However, when I try to add tracks to it, it went somewhat awry. I have 614 mp3s that I tried to add, however, after using enormous amounts of CPU (it was at 100%) for about 30 minutes, I disconnect, unmount, and the About area of the ipod seems to think there are only 256 tracks on the ipod. However, my entire music library is shown when I connect to Amarok. I am confused, should I try another application, or is there a way of fixing this.
I, honestly, don't care about how long the files take to transfer, what bothers me is the fact that I can't get all of them saved into the ITunesDB file so I can see them from the iPod itself.
I just read this on an email list I susbscribe to:
For those of you whom it may be of interest, amaroK's first beta of
the 1.4 series was released a week ago, and features completely
redesigned iPod support, and it's truly AWESOME. Basically
_everything_ works just as well as iTunes, including all those little
nice things like uploading cover artwork and syncing times played /
rating with amaroK's database. There's also on-the-fly transcoding,
though it's not quite ready yet (the required script is still being
worked on), which is nice because I rip all my discs in FLAC.
