iPod Nano Music Player/Rythmbox Sync Problem

Hi All, Newbie here. I am trying to sync my new Nano using Rythmbox V0.8.8.
I am running Simply Mephis 3.3.1-1. I am able to manually mount my iPod, and can view, browse, and play files; I am unable to edit the contents. I suspect I don't have the necessary permissions to do so.

How do I enable write permissions to this drive? Or, if it is something else, please give detailed instructions (NEWBIE).

Thanks in advance.

I don't much about rythm box never liked it much. But Gtkpod works really well and is the only linux program ive used so far that won't mess up the data on the ipod. I'd recomend downloading gtkpod if it's not already installed.
