Smile Running Guarddog


Hello,To all

Well i thing i have guarddog installed
but how do i run it please at there site
they say to look for g/d in KDE menu

but i don't see anything there for g/d
please help me

I run kde, and its in there on mine. Its under the sytem part of the menu. If its not there, just update your menu list, which is under the settings part of the menu.

type guarddog in the "Run command"

You will have to be root to run it as well, and probably need to use
'gksu gaurddog' as command otherwise it probably wont open a window. You can look in /usr/bin and guarddog should be in there. Did you update your menu?

Hey,To all

Hmmm i don't get this at all well here is what i did

1) i extract files to /home/user_name then
./configure then go with Make

2) su
Password

Make install

& at this point it looks like
all files are extract i get no errors

but i have no icon for G/D & i can't seem
to get it to run at all someone help me please

Hey.All

I just did the Run Command & used the root password
& not a thing happens now when i do a file search
it comes up so it should be installed right ????

or did i miss something in the install part
how can i tell if it was installed

Any reasson you downloaded the guarddog app from a website and not from suse's pakacge system?
It would work better this way.
Not sure if guarddog is there but usually comes with most distros...no need for downloading anything.

Personally I use firestarter....i think its easier.(also in package system)

Just for shits and giggles check "lost & found"

but since you compiled and installed from tarball or source who knows where you put it
