Welcome to LQ.

The ns2 xgraph is the "VINT release of xgraph"
https://www.isi.edu/nsnam/xgraph/
... currently at version 12.1 (12.2).
See ns-allinone-2.35/xgraph-12.2/CHANGES.html

Ubuntu 20.04 : Please use "xgraph_12.1-17_amd64.deb"
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1idX...ew?usp=sharing

Download, and install:
Code:
$ sudo gdebi Downloads/xgraph_12.1-17_amd64.deb

? Which version was that ?
Only an old version of xgraph-12.1 will work with 20.04 !
I.e. the (Ubuntu 14.04) xgraph_12.1-17_amd64.deb
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubunt...erse/x/xgraph/
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubunt...1-17_amd64.deb
... created 2013-10-22.

"xgraph_12.1-17_amd64.deb" was tested OK 'May 03' on a rather new install of Ubuntu 20.04 :
Code:
cd ns-allinone-2.35/xgraph-12.2/examples/
xgraph xgtest.xg
You will of course have to uninstall / remove / delete the alien xgraph_4.38
