Hi
I have macbook pro, coare 2 duo 64 bit processor so i downloaded slackware13.1 64 bit but before installing it,i wanted to try it on virtual machine but it is giving me error "this kernel requires an x86-64 cpu,but only detected an i686 cpu. unable to boot-please use a kernel appropriate for your cpu"

I would try the 32bit version of Slackware and see what happens.

That would tell you whether it was specifically a Slack 64 issue or a more general one.

There used to a project for porting Slackware to Mac called Slackintosh, but it seems inactive right now.
