New member, Slackware 13.0 on a 15" Macbook Pro
New member here, been using Linux off and on for the past 10 years or so. Started with Caldera (anyone remember them?) in 1998 on an Asus BX chipset board with Dual PII 350's and 128MB of RAM (I still have this computer, by the way) Currently running Slack 13.0 on an assortment of hardware, the most recent of which is a Macbook Pro 15" that I acquired about two weeks ago. I am a working tech (Windows/Mac) in a break/fix environment in northeastern Texas. I've always told people I was a Linux user, but to be honest, would quickly jump ship back to Windows whenever I encountered a problem that took me more than 15 minutes to solve. I've been running Slackware in a production webserver environment for the past 5 years, and have now decided it's time for me to make the "real" jump to running Linux on the desktop as my permanent, full time OS. I'll have plenty of odd questions, and hope to contribute some odd answers as well.
