How does the "locked" manifest itself?

I've never seen that term on a BIOS/
startup screen.

Cheers,
Tink

Sorry mate, I really suggest you read
the link above. You're not giving me
ANY information at to even how the
"doesn't want to boot" manifests itself.

I'm not clairvoyant (neither are most
of the other people here), so I haven't
got a clue as where to start without the
information you're failing to provide.

Have you got Lilo installed?
Do you get a lilo prompt?
If you have a lilo-prompt, and
you select windows, what happens?
Are there any error messages on
your screen?
...
..
.

I could continue this list endlessly,
but quite frankly, I'd rather have you
think about your problem, and come
back with a decent question than presenting
you with a multiple choice test that makes
me type for ages and that only you will benefit
from. If you had a clearer way of saying what
the problem is we might have a solution
in no time, but we're wasting it here ;)

Cheers,
Tink
