modem done for?

Hi

Sorry I mean router.

I have a ADSLANNEX-A CC300011UK from SWEEX. No connection, so I checked on the trouble shooter and it said

checking ADSL synchronization FAIL

My question is, can this be fixed or do I need a new router?

And if i get the same one again will it be easier to install?

It's probably a problem with your VCI settings (ask your ISP for the right VCI number) or you just didn't have signed an adsl account with your ISP.

So was it working previously? Then I strongly believe you can have:

1. humidity over your telephone connector. Try to use a towel to clear it up, it happens sometimes the same here and I can almost always fix it doing that.

2. Maybe it's a physical problem with your router, but I hardly believe it is, although you can test it using a different router under the same adsl line.

3. A WAN issue, then it's your ISP who needs to solve it.

Solved?

I have changed the spliter. I will check the LED when i get home. I don't think it is a condensation problem. Thanks again.
