TX Error

Hi,

May I know in what situation would I encounter a TX Error on the network? Will the Tx Error counter increase in the output of ifconfig whenever the client does not reply within a time frame? Is there any documentation that defines the meaning of "TX error" in ifconfig clearly so that I can replicate an error on my machines?

I have tried using the manpage for ifconfig but it didn't serve me well. Tried to find more info on the web but can't find one that give me a clear answer.

Can anyone help me?

does `netstat -i` give the same result?
what kernel are you running on?... older kernels were prone to pruduce bogus ifconfig results
