routing problems


computers on my network can access internet through gateway (suse 9.0) only when i'm pinging something

ping something

iptables are ok
ip forwarding is on
no firewall is present

sos,sos,sos

As i understood your problem is firewall OK?
If iptables is ok i think there is no any problem with firewall..

no , firewall is not problem ( there is non firw\ewall instaled on maschine )

i'm thinking maybe the network card is problem?!??

it seems that software is ok , i suspect hardware , any ideas???

I think three things are cause this problem.

1. DNS settings (Maybe DNS servers are not working)
2. /etc/resolv.conf
3. Hardware

Can you check these items.

let's just think for a minute.

dns:
if dns is not working , than it would be problem all the time , not only when i stop pinging from the router.

/etc/resolve.conf:
pretty much the same answer

hardware:
posible
