I probably did 50 google searches to find this. It's to mount shares from my Windows 2003 server to my RHEL server:

/sbin/mount.cifs //path/to/share /path/to/mount/point/ -o user=your-username

This is the only way I could mount win2k3 shares and access them via apache for file downloads.

You've not made things very clear, but at a guess I'd say either your Windows mounts are not mounted world-readable, or they do not contain an index file and apache is configured not to allow access to the directory listing of a directory without an index.
