anonymous ftp server and access to vfat mounts

My PC is a Slackware 10 box, running pure-ftpd 1.0.20.

I have used Pure-FTPd before and mounted remote (networked) samba shares which I have shared on my FTP server. Now I am trying to share folders within a vfat mount on the same PC but I get permission denied errors. I have tried through symlinks and 'mount --bind ...'. I have compiled and installed --with-virtualchroot but no joy.

Any help is appreciated,

Update: I do not believe I have this as a problem any more as a lot has changed since I started this thread.
