Smile SmartAX Mt-882 adsl on OpenSuse 10.2

I have just received the above from TalkTalk as part of Talk3/broadband package. Connected using ethernet to PC (eth0 on motherboard) and set up using Firefox to open address 192.168.1.1.
Pre-work included disable Kinternet and turn on ethernet port in PC bios.
Worked straight away but needed setting up twice before setting became permanent. Points to look out for are:
both link and LAN light turn from green to amber after booting up. This indicates enhanced connection - not fault.
by default eth0 came up in internal firewall zone - moved to external.
Ensure you turn off DNS server, Mail server and POP3 server if you are simply running a workstation.

Does anyone know of a site with a manual for the MT-882. Talktalk support staff are useless - the guy I talked to did not seem to comprehend that unix and Linux existed as a workstation operating system, and had no idea of the best parameters for the numerous set-up pages on the modem.

Are you sure you do not have an ethernet port? Some motherboards have one but there is a blanking plate over it. Check by physical look or by interrupting boot up to inspect BIOS. If not present then ethernet cards are very cheap and a much better route than USB. Faster, less risk of conflict, easier to set up.....
