Cool SmartAX MT882 adsl configuration

hi guys
I have got a problem which i have been trying to fix for 2 days.

I have SmartAX MT882 huawei modem. I have not been able to configure it in SUSE 10.0.
I went to yast>network devices>network card
and found that it detected Network interface card properly
I checked my lan settings in windows.
I entered following values in network settings (copied the values in windows):
Static IP 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS 61.1.96.69
Secondary DNS 61.1.96.71.
it did not work
There was somemore options like 'enable IP forwarding' under routing option and start on hotplug etc.I wonder what values do i need to set there.
Also there was something called as domain name ,host name and search domain name.
What values should i set there?

thanking in advance

kittaanna
