Right now I have a dual Boot Windows+Linux Machine. It is connected to the net via DSL using SmartAX MT882 DSL Modem, which is connected to a broadband SMC7004WFW router, connecting to two computers and a Laptop. The network and internet connection works fine on Windows.

The Problem / Complication (Linux Networking Setup):

I am now using and Mandriva Linux PowerPack+ 2006. Under Linux the Network Card pings OK, when I ping 127.0.0.1. The network card in the computer is set as 192.168.2.101, Subnet 255.255.255.0. The DSN, GATEWAY are also set correctly as set under Windows where the values work!. But here in Linux, I am not able to configure the Network card properly and I am not even able access the router address: 192.168.2.1 or the dsl modem address: 192.168.1.1, let alone my laptop/network/internet.

I was using Mandrake Linux 9.x on dialup PPP dialup modem, before I installed DSL and Mandriva Linux PowerPack+ 2006.

My System configuration is PIII-850, 768 MB RAM, 12 GB dedicated for LINUX, dualboot with Windows. The Networkcard is Intel 21041 based Digital 10 MBPS Card and every thing works perfectly under Windows from where I am sending this message.
