Config ADSL on Slackware

Hi. This is a newbie question...
I want to have internet (ADSL) on my Slackware, but I donīt know if my network card is configured. I donīt have netmods installed, and itīs not on the CD, I guess (Slack 9.0). Can someone help me out? When I type pppoe it says network is down. I got 2 Network cards, one onboard (itīs an A7V600 Asus).

Hi Blanka,
the command lspci should give you all cards in your system that the kernel recognizes. Look at the output and see, if it mentions any of your network cards.

To configure your adsl-connection, use the adsl-setup tool (needs to be run as root).
To bring your connection up, use adsl-start, to bring it down adsl-stop, to check your status use adsl-status.

Hope this gets you started,

Thanks for the reply

I think linux is recognising my ethernet card, on eth1, cause I can ping it, and specify an IP. But adsl-start doesn't make anything, not even an error message, and my external ADSL modem doesn't even try to connect. I already made adsl-setup, and I'm almost sure I did everything ok, like the ISP DNS, pwd and username. What could be wrong? Shouldn't I specify an IP for the Ethernet card?
