Fedora Core 4 / HP Pavilion ze2348ea screen resolution problem

Hi,

i have installed Fedora Core 4 on an HP Pavilion ze2348ea notebook recently and everything went great except that, no screen is ever recognized, the ati radeon express videocard as well and the xconf program would no let me select the appropriate details for configuring display correctly.
Only here, the trouble is that i have no way of selecting anything else than 800x600 as screen resolution... .

Does anyone know a way to enforce the system to know that there is definitely an lcd screen and that the video card is not an vga compliant card only?

Thanks for your help,
pc

hi,

i had already tried following the link you gave me, only although i get no errors validating the command you're reffering to i still did not work.

However, i have tried the ATI Proprietary Driver for Linux and it worked.
My ATI Radeon Express card is now in use on my system.

Thanks for the tip anyway.
