Dell Inspiron 1545 CANNOT install Ubuntu 11.04

I have downloaded Ubuntu 11.04, burned the iso to a disk (at a slower rate) and I get this error when trying to install:

(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Input/output error
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem/squashfs) on //filesystems.squashfs)

Help!!

I don't know conclusively what the error means, but my Dell 1545n runs Linux just fine--in fact came with it from the factory.

So my first guess would be that there's something screwy with the install media.

My first impulse would be to get a Live CD of something else, such as Knoppix, and do a test boot.

To add to Frank's post - Have you checked the checksum of the disc after burning the image?

Linux has been installed.

Faulty Disk was at fault, it's working like a champ now! Did it the same day, just wanted to give a heads up for those who replied to my thread.

Thanks again!!
