trying to get knoppix to see my ich5r sata raid. it's a ntfs format raid 0 with 2 250 GB drives
OK I'm new to Linux.
I'm using knoppix 6.0.1 installed on a flash drive.
the old version 5.1.0 live cd would auto see my raid and i could mount them and use them but with 6 it sees them as two separate disk. (there in a raid zero) i can tell this b/c there's an option to install knoppix on a hard disk and the installer sees them as two separate disks and i just don't what to do to make knoppix see it as a raid.





Here DISK is something like /dev/hdb or /dev/sda
and PARTITION is something like /dev/hda7
-u: give Start and End in sector (instead of cylinder) units

Hi. I don't know anything about Knoppix, but if the raid device has already been setup, and is separate from the actually system (you don't need it to boot up) then there should only be two main aspects to this. One is getting mdadm and your mdadm.conf file set up, and the other is setting up fstab to automatically mount the raid device.

It would be ideally to find documentation written for your own distro, but a quick google search pulled this link up:

Look through the section "Create the mdadm.conf Configuration File" and the sections following to get a rough idea. Also, if you can take a look at the mdadm man page and learn how to do this manually, it will give you a better understanding of what is going on.

[edit: Oh, err... is that a hardware raid configuration? I assumed software raid when I skimmed through. My info probably isn't relevant. Apologies for wasting your zero-reply status.]
